The Book- Gone Girl-Gillian Flynn

It’s Setting- Inside the minds of a married couple

Your reason to read- An intriguing, fast paced murder mystery that opens on Nick and Amy’s 5-year anniversary. The viewpoints switch from chapter to chapter, following Nick in the present and Amy’s old diary entries. The different voices give clues to what happened to Amy and what was wrong in their marriage.

Bonus- The film version of this book will be release in 0ctober 2014, starring Ben Affleck!

The Book- Let Me Go-Chelsea Cain

Its setting- Portland Oregon

Your reason to read- It’s number 6 in the New York Times bestselling Archie Sheridan/Gretchen Lowell series. If you (shamefully) haven’t read the 1st five books, do not fret. Chelsea Cain expertly weaves a summary into this sixth book. Archie has kept his sobriety, his badge, and his friends. The world’s favorite serial killer Gretchen Lowell makes an appearance, and without giving any spoilers, it becomes increasingly difficult to hate her. You’ll keep your lights on after this read.

Bonus- FX has picked up on the twisted fantasticness that is Archie Sheridan and Gretchen Lowell. Fingers crossed they also pick up the pilot!

The book-The Hundred Foot Journey-Richard C. Morais

Its setting-Mumbai to Paris

Your reason to read-The Hundred Foot Journey follows Hassan Haji, the unlikeliest of chef’s, from India to France. A mix between Ratatouille and Slumdog Millionaire the book highlights the vast differences and cultural gaps between French and Indian kitchens and how Hassan Haji expertly maneuvers his way to the top.

Bonus- Will be a feature film in 2014 starring Helen Mirren. Get in the know!
