Stefano Mazzone
Born in Treviso to Sicilian parents, Chef Stefano Mazzone began his career with the iconic Italian Chef Gualtiero Marchesi, quickly rising to chef de partie. The culinary legend taught him that excellence and innovation is achived through determination and creative experimentation, not strictly genius. Following his work with Marchesi, he then went on to cook for Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck, whose cuisine embodied the fun, colofulness, and vividness of the Mediterranean. Following stints as executive chef at the five-star hotel Belmond Villa Sant’Andrea in Taormina and the four-star Hotel Londra Palace in Venice, Mazzone arrived at Capri’s Grand Hotel Quisisana in 2007. At Quisisana, Mazzone celebrates the clean flavors and magic of this southern island with beloved, traditional dishes that are elevated through a modern lens and beautiful presentation.
Alberico Nunziata
Chef Nunziata has served as the executive chef at Santa Monica’s Hotel Casa del Mar since January 2015. He brings an Italian heritage and a farm-to-table culinary philosophy, working with fresh, seasonal ingredients from the nearby Santa Monica Farmers’ Market, to the hotel’s Catch restaurant and Terrazza Lounge. His culinary approach is to highlight these ingredients through simple, Mediterranean-inspired preparations, letting the natural flavors shine through. This love of cooking led him to attend the I.S.I.S DeMedici culinary school at the very young age of 14. He served as a personal chef for ten years, cooking for the General Manager of NATO and the Italian Ambassador. For two years, he hosted his own show called “Buongiorno Cielo” on SKY TV, and was a winner on the Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay” and “Cutthroat Kitchen.”
