Summer in Southern California calls for balmy beach days, every day.
It also calls for beach yoga, brunch with a view, soothing spa rituals, and light bites and cocktails at sunset – all part of your next long weekend in Santa Monica.
At Shutters on the Beach, there are endless ways to fill a long-weekend itinerary, with the height of summer activity happening in The Lobby Lounge. The cozy but elegant space sets the stage for sophisticated beachfront evenings amongst fireplaces and plush couches, live music, and a spectacular collection of artwork – plus, the adjacent lobby terrace with unrivaled views of the Pacific. And it is in The Lobby Lounge that you can find weekly events with a spotlight on creative hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
Each has something entirely different to offer, which is why we recommend making time for all of them during your Wednesday-to-Saturday getaway.
Allow us to convince you:
Wednesday Boîte, The Lobby Lounge, 6 to 10 pm
Kick off your long weekend in style with one-of-a-kind, top-shelf cocktails in a setting reminiscent of a cool French lounge. Even if you are a regular to Wednesday Boîte, you will find something new to sip because each week comes with its own custom cocktail menu.
Buon Appetito e Buona Serata, The Lobby Lounge, Thursdays from 6 to 9 pm
Santa Monica meets Italy on Thursday nights with a selection of delectable aperitivos, live jazz music, hand-selected Italian vinos, and craft cocktails. Our talented sommelier is on hand to walk you through the Italian wines by the glass (from regions like Umbria, Campania, Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna) while you partake in Italian charcuterie, artisanal cheeses, and antipasti from Salumi Nostrani to Piatto di Formaggi. And if you are feeling adventurous, try the Cocktail Italiano made with negroni, Americano, bellini, sgroppino, Pirlo, and spritz Veneziano.
Friday Night Ceviche, The Lobby Lounge, 5 to 9 pm
Friday nights are all about seafood as Chef Vittorio Lucariello prepares hors d’oeuvres highlighting mahi-mahi, shrimp, sea bass, and other personal favorites. We recommend a margarita and a bowl of chips and guacamole to accompany the SoCal-inspired flavors.
