Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer in many ways, though here in Southern California we like our beach days and rooftop pool parties all year round.
So as we transition from sunny and warm to, well, sunny and warm, here are the events we’re most excited about this holiday weekend in Santa Monica.
Twilight Concerts | September 1
A favorite Santa Monica tradition for more than 30 years, the Twilight Concerts at Santa Monica Pier bring together an eclectic collection of musicians for Thursday evening performances throughout the summer. Spirited concertgoers gather on the pier and nearby stretches of beach while artists such as Unknown Mortal Orchestra, scheduled to kick off Labor Day weekend, take the stage. The concert is the second-to-last in the series, which wraps up on September 8. Stop by Coast Beach Café before the show for a special Twilight Dinner menu!
Roga on the Pier | September 3
There are few places we would rather be for an early morning yoga session. Kick off the weekend with a 2- or 5-mile group run on the beach, then gain a new perspective of the Pacific when you join a multi-level yoga practice at the end of Santa Monica Pier. Roga on the Pier combines two of our favorite workouts for an invigorating Saturday morning session that is free to attend. Be sure to bring a mat.
