Once you take a seat at the luxe new al fresco lounge The PT at Shutters, it’s going to be pretty tough to get up—let alone leave. The tented pop-up space occupies one of the most stunning locations at Shutters on the Beach, a sprawling outdoor patio perched above the beach with sweeping ocean views that turn even more spectacular at sunset. And we haven’t even gotten to the Champagne cocktail part yet.
The venue feels warm and welcoming, with several lush potted plants, pendant lights covered in rattan shades, and intimate seating areas at candlelit tables or sofas that flank the grand brick fireplace, along with plenty of heaters to make chilly spring evenings feel cozy. The design is equal parts posh and playful, thanks to an array of accent pieces done in Veuve Clicquot’s signature yellow—from poppy pillows to bold birdcages to a Veuve-ified bicycle (complete with a magnum on board in the back basket).
The cocktail menu is centered around the fabled French Champagne, too, with classics including a French 75 and Aperol Spritz, plus PT at Shutters’ own signature sippers: custom creations like the Spicy Rose, Veuve Clicquot Rosé laced with citrus, basil, and jalapeno, or the Mezcal-ginger-and-bubbles-based Party in Oaxaca.
Of course, you can order Veuve by the glass or bottle, as well as wine and classic cocktails, oysters by the dozen, raw seafood platters, crudo and charcuterie plates, and one of the best Champagne food pairings ever: pizza. (Try the prosciutto-and-arugula version topped with buttery Castelvetrano olives and sharp Asiago. You won’t regret it.) On Fridays and Saturdays, the hotel brings in a rotating lineup of local chefs to cook up new specialties.
Killer views, chilled Champagne, decadent dishes, and a warm and whimsical al fresco venue? Yep, you’ll be staying a while.
