As the sun sets over Southern California’s distant horizon, the curtains are opening on one of LA’s favorite summer traditions. Find your seats, music lovers: it’s time to welcome back the Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier, just steps from both Shutters on the Beach and Hotel Casa del Mar.
A Santa Monica staple for more than 30 years, the Twilight Concerts attract locals and visitors alike for an eclectic mix of musical performances on the beachfront. The series continually features new artists in different genres, with the timeless, soulful sounds of Mayer Hawthorne kicking things off on Thursday, July 7 from 7 to 10 pm. The Psychedelic Furs, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and other vibrant performers will take the stage each Thursday thereafter through September 8.
For a spirited prelude to proceedings, seasoned concertgoers know the party begins at Shutters and Casa—where fine wine, beer, and cocktail service begins well before sunset (translation: all day). Casa’s Terrazza Lounge is the choice for wide-ranging palates, offering craft cocktails (off the Casa-Tini Happy Hour Menu, Sunday-Thursday 3-6pm), pre-selected wine varietals, red sangria, and craft draft beer. And if rosé is the order of the day, look no further than Coast’s La Vie en… Rosé menu, offering a worldly assortment of pinks from Provence, Toscana, Rioja, Pfalz, Santa Barbara, and more.
